Getting hungry… anyone up for food?
(Okay, I bailed on the “Future of Electronics” session, tried getting into the “Social Marketing Your Brand” but it was full, so I ended up in the “True Stories from Social Media”, since it was in the next room).
This session ROCKED! Here are a few cool things I learned from
1. Engage your community - give them something to do on your site.
2. Take care of your community and they will take care of you.
3. Be yourself (i.e. on Twitter)
4. Don’t feel pressured to launch something early when you’re not prepared.
5. Don’t concentrate too much on being “web 2.0” - just give your audience what they want.
6. Play openly in the technology sandbox and it will eventually pay off.
7. Stay 3 steps ahead of the people you’re leaning on because they will eventually move on (since much of online is volunteer or social network based).
8. Take bloggers (or the online community) to start talking about you!
One take away from this session: Take the scoop away from Oprah first! :)
On my way to convention center
Sitting at “Driving the Future of Consumer Electronics”
I’m starting to feel the burn-out… lot’s of information at this conference and not enough of me to go around. Not too much I want to go to today, but here’s what I’d like to see:
10AM -(nothing)
11:30AM - “True Stories from Social Media” or “Web that wasn’t” or “Future of Consumer Electronics” or “Hardware mashups”
12PM - “Cyber Safety”
3:30PM -“Future of Volunteers” or “Digital Future of Healthcare”
5PM -“Bio-Networks”
Trying not to get too overwhelmed, but day four will be tough to get through!
